The Foundation Prize

Choose section:

Since 2017, works by one artist or art group presented during the Warsaw Gallery Weekend have been chosen for our collection following a competition.

With the award, we intend to not only express our appreciation for Polish artists but also to support galleries exhibiting during the Warsaw Gallery Weekend and contributing to the position of the Polish art scene on the international art market. Private patronage is indispensable to the development of the domestic art scene, and is also an expression of support for Polish artists; we would therefore like to encourage private individuals and corporations to embark upon the extraordinary adventure of collecting art.

In view of the collection profile, only Polish artists or art groups with post-1990 works are considered. All choices are made by a five-person jury with permanent membership: one expert representing a Polish public institution, one foreign curator invited to explore the Polish art scene, one private collector, and two members of the ING Polish Art Foundation Board.
