What? Light. How? Ironically

What? Light. How? Ironically. is an amusing attempt at portraying a painter’s palette. The upper section of the multi-coloured composition features a list of all colours used in the painting, coloured fields gradually darkening downwards and only approximating the list spreading below. Marek Sobczyk’s gesture serves to emphasise the discrepancy between categories of painting descriptions and what the human eye perceives. “Classic dimensions of analysing and interpreting art are passé,” the artist argues in his trademark ironic style.
