Two works from the ING Polish Art Foundation will be presented during the main exhibition of the 9th Edition of the International Festival of Visual Arts inSPIRACJE.

The main exhibition na-POCZĄTEK will present works relating to the theme of Genesis and the cultural dispute between traditional upbringing in the Christian faith and the achievements of science.

Oskar Dawicki’s video Tree of Knowledge refers to the Book of Genesis. The artist used the biblical motif of eating apples from the forbidden tree. He sneaks into an orchard at night and bites into all the apples growing on one of the apple trees. None of the fruit is ripe, each bite is spat out. Dawicki shows the sour side of knowledge gained from the sinful bite.

Jakub Julian Ziółkowski is interested in the biological existence of the human being. The artist painted a man lying on the grass, his body as an element of the landscape. It blends with the soil and the plants, it is part of the material world – not an independent entity.
