The works in the foundation's collection come from the Novus Ordo Seclorum series, a visual essay on the roots of modernist art. The artist tackles iconographic motifs appearing in distant centers of European thought, such as 16th-century Nuremberg, Paris during the French Revolution, and Moscow and the October Revolution. Woynarowski's undertaking is an attempt to rewrite the history of the avant-garde. He takes away the pioneering, revolutionary, and scientific quality of Modernist art, inscribing it in the history of magical practices, weaving in Masonic and alchemical threads. The artist also creates a visual atlas to depict iconographic links; the intelligent juxtapositions of various motifs are at once erudite and absurd.
