The figure of a young woman against a pastel background, her dress and hair ruffled by a soft breeze; the image evokes the mood of old fashion magazines, the euphoria of summertime travels and youthful dreams. The artist was inspired by fashion photos from Ty i Ja, a Polish magazine popular in the 1960s. According to the artist, it promoted an optimistic outlook on the world, in a manner which was out of tune with the politically difficult times. This is one of the most seductive paintings created in Poland in the late 1990s – careless but sentimental, alluring but highly melancholic.
