“My paintings stem from a need, a naive one perhaps, to define a personalised view of the world. They are an attempt to elaborate on our invariably stormy relationships with ourselves and with others,” writes the artist in a commentary to her graduation project exhibition. “All the paintings of this series have one theme in common – the individual, the body, feelings, and emotions. We see recurring images of faces, heads with braids, female figures, couples hugging, pregnant women, families with kids. There also appears the characteristic motif of a shattered human figure, bringing to mind the work of Andrzej Wróblewski,” says Matylda Prus of the m2 Gallery.
