Description

Natalia Załuska's works are intricately constructed visual statements. She uses minimal formal tactics to build aesthetically and intellectually advanced works. The language of the avant-garde classics resonates in the background of Załuska's art, and she uses it quite consciously. Her work uses planes (cardboard surfaces) and color (a palette essentially limited to black and white) to create subtle relief pictures. Her extreme limitation of her resources opens up an endless number of formal combinations. Subtle interventions appear on the cardboard planes, such as a pencil-drawn lines painted with a layer of paint to achieve the effect of a glazed depth.
