Art in Our Age
Does art have to be pretty? How can we distinguish between true artist and an impostor? Do artists make a living by selling their art? What are the factors behind pricing their works? Authors include director of Zachęta Gallery Hanna Wróblewska, curator Dorota Jarecka, Deputy Director of the Museum of Modern Art Sebastian Cichocki, artist Oskar Dawicki, gallery owner and writer Łukasz Gorczyca, art historian Maria Poprzęcka, and many other reputed representatives of the art world.
Publikacja towarzyszyła wystawie Sztuka w naszym wieku autorstwa Rafała Dominika i Szymona Żydka w Zachęcie – Narodowej Galerii Sztuki, współorganizowanej przez Fundację Sztuki Polskiej ING. Prezentowane w książce dzieła sztuki pochodzą z kolekcji obu instytucji. Publikację zaprojektował Jakub DeBarbaro.
The publication accompanied the Art in Our Age exhibition co-authored by Rafał Dominik and Szymon Żydek, shown at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art and co-organised by the ING Polish Art Foundation. All artworks reproduced in the book have been sourced in the respective collections of the two institutions. The publication was designed by Jakub de Barbaro.
